Prey movie review

Prey is a legitimate motion picture that should have been shown in theaters instead of being made available only via streaming services. Putting on the American Indian dub and seeing it is really a thrilling experience. This is a far cry from the unsettling sensations of the original work and the classic flourish that John McTiernan contributed, but director Trachtenberg is eager to show off with a grab bag of (new update) modern visual ideas and sturdy action choreography, and it aligns perfectly with the survivalist sensibility of the first film. It is crammed with of ethereal pictures of forest vistas, and both the soundtrack and the sound design add to the immersive experience. The movie is carried by Amber Midthunder's largely silent performance as Naru, who is the primary role. Her facial emotions and quick movements determine the tempo and rhythms of the film, all the way up to a dramatic climactic battle in the third act. This is really gruesome and awful. It's amazing to see the Predator making a significant comeback after all these time.
